Large bunch of grapes with a curving stalk watermark (Griffiths/Hartley 11, which they cite for this print). Trimmed on or just inside the plate mark upper and lower edges, thread margin left edge, small margin right edge. A very good, dark and early impression of this extremely scarce print, with all the fine details, including the dot-manner shading, distinct. 

Griffiths/Hartley list 7 impressions in public collections. We have found only 7 other impressions at auction in the past 30 years. Griffiths/Hartley 13.

Etching with stipple, 1612-1616, on laid paper, without watermark, a very good impression of this rare print, first or second, final state (uncertain as lacking the text border below), trimmed fractionally into the subject at lower right, otherwise trimmed to or outside the borderline, a small skinned area at upper left, the upper right sheet tip made-up, some thin spots

Ausgezeichneter Druck in sehr guter Erhaltung, mit schmalem Papierrändchen um die voll sichtbare Plattenkante. Unten rechts in der Platte signiert und links davon mit der Verlegeradresse von Le Blond. Auf Papier mit Wasserzeichen "Traube"

Belle épreuve rognée sur le trait carré, soigneusement lavée. Petites amincissures visibles au verso par transparence. Un minuscule trou dans le sujet. Petite restauration dans l'angle supérieur gauche. Filigrane : ange dans un cercle 

Lot n° 2
(Walch 26 ; Griffiths et Hartley 29a) 28,0cm x 14,5cm. Eau-forte. Très belle épreuve du premier état avant l’adresse de Leblond, rognée de quelques mm en hauteur et coupée à droite et à gauche (dimensions du cuivre données par Griffiths : 288 x 164). Quelques reprises à l’encre sépia, légères taches, un peu jaunie. Petit accident dans le bas renforcé au verso, infime manque dans le bord gauche, légères pliures, petites cassures. Reste de montage au verso du bord droit, en partie ôté vers le bas avec une légère amincissure du feuillet.
